# How to book?

When you book accommodation on HackerHouse, you make arrangements to stay in a communal living space. Each host has his own style of hospitality, starting with the way he likes to get to know his guests. Some guests want to validate reservation requests with a visit, while others feel comfortable letting you make a reservation for their accommodation with a simple phone call.

## 1. Find the right HackerHouse

With several HackerHouses in the capital, you'll want to make sure that the place you choose has everything you want for a comfortable and memorable stay.

When looking for accommodation, look carefully at the present roommates, read the comments, the description and the house rules and review the facilities to see if the accommodation meets your expectations. You can always contact the admin to ask any questions you may have about the accommodation.

## 1. Request a phone call (15mn)

In either case, it is important to know that the HackerHouse is a community based on trust. Make sure that your reservation request is complete, so that he can know a little more about you during the call. Your request should include a date and time of the call, first name, last name, phone, Linkedin profile, Check-in/Checkout date and a small pitch because some hosts want guests to have a real motivation to join their HackerHouse.

## 3. Book !

You have found the ideal profile and it is now time to make your reservation official. Your admin will send you a "stripe" link to a form to fill :

* Banking details
* Check-in - Checkout date
* Length of stay

From then on, a confirmation email will be sent to you to confirm your booking with your admin.

# Make a visit

We encourage all our guests to finalize their reservation on our website before meeting in person. This is the best way to ensure their safety and privacy.

We understand that guests wish to visit to make sure that the Hackerhouse matches the advertisement, but we respect the privacy of our roommates by avoiding visits. To be honest, with our availability it's difficult.

There are several ways to find out more about the accommodation and the host without going to see the property :

* Comments / Reviews
* Verified pictures

Guests must also provide personal information before accepting reservations on the site.

# Booking price

The total price of a reservation on HackerHouse is determined according to a few criteria. Please note that the price is charged once you have confirmed your booking.

## 💌 Some pitch examples

### Métrics & hobbies 🤖

`Hello, I'm Gabriel, a young 25 year old entrepreneur :) I'm originally from Lyon but I've been in Paris for almost 3 years to live the startup life at 200%! I am the CTO of Pitch My Startup, one of the flagship events of the Parisian startup scene. Every quarter, we organize a startup pitch event with more than 600 members of the startup ecosystem (entrepreneurs, VC, etc). Our goal is really to promote entrepreneurship and accompany startups in the success of their project : we are also developing a web app allowing to create calls for projects and manage them collaboratively, and giving access to startups to a large marketplace of calls for projects.`\
`I'm also a freelance web front end dev (it's cool to be an entrepreneur but it's also cool to put money aside :) ) As far as my character is concerned, I'm a cool guy, without any headache, really easy to live with and who likes to meet a lot of cool new people (if they are entrepreneurs it's even better!). So, I would be really happy to live this adventure, I'm of course open to talk more about me by phone and come and meet you :D Cheers \o/`

### Hobbies & Sharing 🤙

`Hi, I'm Benoit, an entrepreneurial student who is coming to Paris for a 6 month internship in a startup (Legalife) starting April 2nd. I plan to launch later (September or January) my biotech start-up. I'm currently in Lyon and looking for a place to live and especially a roommate to meet people, get to know you and share moments and experiences/knowledge in all fields. I'm used to sharing a flat, since I live in Lyon with 2 people. Concerning myself, I'm nice, quite early in the morning. I often listen to music and I love sports (skiing, thai boxing, running, slack and so on). I'm always ready to give boxing lessons or to go to do sports if you feel like it! :) I love cooking and if you like savoyard dishes and cheese, that's good because I'm a specialist ;) In roommate life, I'm clean and follow the rules. If you liked my profile, don't hesitate to contact me and we can organize a skype to make a first meeting.`&#x20;

### Short but wow 😱

`Dear Julie,`\
`This is Karishma from San Francisco. I work at NASA Ames and now entering into startup world. Since Paris is the new hub for tech startups, I am coming to Paris.`\
`In California, I live in community house where like minded people live together while working towards the greater purpose of life. I have found that hacker house is kind of same thing and I would love to live there.`\
`Please, let me know how can I live here. I am coming to Paris from April.`\
`Thanks.`&#x20;

### Humorously 🤣

`Hi, there. My name is Thomas and I'm looking for a roommate after having lived abroad for 3 years (I'm in South Africa now, I used to live in Sweden). I arrived in France on March 18th. I'm coming back to France to work. To tell you the truth, I have a lot of things to do, I have my dissertation to finish in Sweden and on top of that I am taking courses at INALCO and the Cnam, so I need a working atmosphere where I can surpass myself at every moment. Moreover, I'm waiting for the results of a competition so if I'm accepted orally I'll have to be double-mouthed. So I need to be in a work atmosphere and to influence my positive energy in the roommate. I have lived with many people in my life and I think what comes out of it is that I am a rather simple person to live with. Otherwise, about me: I like traveling (the most common thing), I like tennis (even more common), I like birds and fresh water too. The cool thing, I try to study Swahili. What I don't like: wars, diseases, nuclear attacks and track 3 of the album Enemy to enemy Asian dub foundation. I don't smoke, but cigarettes don't bother me, (my old roommate used to smoke like a fireman and even woke me up once in a while with a cigarette in his mouth) I don't think I mind much except when I lose at tennis something that happens EVERY TIME. Anyway, I would be happy to discuss this with you on Skype but anyway I think the concept is really cool and I really think that being in such an atmosphere is just good and enjoyable. Anyway, I wish you a good day! Thomas.` <br>

# Clean and tidy kitchen

The story of the dirty dishes not done is a great classic.

[![](https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/56687311/482a24361ec5d5ab998d2ea1/83493-comment-organiser-la-cuisine-en-colocation-_x450.jpg)](https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/56687311/482a24361ec5d5ab998d2ea1/83493-comment-organiser-la-cuisine-en-colocation-_x450.jpg)

At the HackerHouse, dishes remain a recurring problem as in many roommates.

```
Everyone has to do their own dishes or you'll be blamed on whatsapp*
```

\*camera in common rooms\
\
To help you in this insurmountable quest, the HackerHouses have :

* Washing-up liquid

In case of extreme necessity :

Every country has its own requirements that accounts must meet for Stripe to be able to pay out funds to individuals and companies. These are typically known as [Know Your Customer](https://support.stripe.com/questions/know-your-customer-obligations) (KYC) requirements. Regardless of the country, broadly speaking, the requirements Stripe must meet are:

* Collecting information about the individual or company receiving funds
* Verifying information to establish that we know who our customers are

# Warning

Colivings are not easy projects. They are intended for large cities, where land is very expensive, and where it's not easy to find buildings to restructure. They compete with traditional housing projects.

And that's without the legal difficulties posed by this model, which is difficult to fit into the boxes of traditional leases. Several operators like Station F or HackerHouse have solved this problem by tinkering with statuses.

# Equipped premises

Like the rental of furnished accommodation, the rental of professional or commercial premises equipped for the needs of the activity is subject to the industrial and commercial profits scheme.

In other words, the lessor of equipped leased business premises is assimilated to a trader. He is therefore in the same situation as the lessor of furnished business premises, with the difference that the lessor must earn more than EUR 23 000 (including tax) in annual income to benefit from this status.
